I just got back from hiking this today. It is an interesting mixture of high-traffic,well maintained, almost urban feeling trails and very rugged, hard to locate trails. There are at least a half dozen stream crossings that are not always easy to navigate and remain dry-footed. Though the height gain is not significant, I would say 80% of this hike is either going up or going down significant grade and you need to moderately in shape for it not to distract from the pleasure. Not a Robe Demoiselle D'honneur Pas Cher"stroll in the park" and I wouldn't take children younger than mid-teens.
